What is Coexistence?

WhatsApp Business App Coexistence allows your business to use the same WhatsApp number with both the WhatsApp Business App and the WhatsApp Cloud API simultaneously. This means you can keep the convenience of the mobile app for day-to-day conversations while unlocking advanced automation, broadcasts, and CRM integration through Eazybe’s platform.

This feature avoids losing your chat history, contacts, or conversations when transitioning to API-powered messaging, enabling a seamless experience for your team.

Prerequisites for Coexistence Setup

Before you start, ensure:

  • Your WhatsApp Business app is updated to version 2.24.17 or higher.

  • You have a verified Meta Business Account with business verification completed.

  • Your business phone number is eligible and not currently linked to another WhatsApp API provider.

  • You have access to Eazybe’s WhatsApp Cloud API integration with necessary permissions.

  • Your webhook endpoints are configured to process Cloud API events.

  • You understand embedded signup workflows and have session logging enabled.


Step-by-Step Onboarding Guide

Step 1: Log in and Grant Permissions

  • Click connect to access your Facebook Business Account.

  • Grant Eazybe the necessary permissions to manage your WhatsApp assets.

    • Note: This popup is managed by Facebook. Eazybe does not see or store your personal Facebook login details as mentioned in privacy policy.

Step 2: Select Your Business Assets

Follow the on-screen prompts within the popup to:

  • Fill your business information with correct information in the input fields.

Step 3: Verify Your Phone Number

  • Connect to an existing WhatsApp Business number (Coexistence)

  • Enter your existing mobile number with the required country code.

Step 4: Scan QR Code on WhatsApp Business App

  • A QR code is generated.

  • Option 1 : Open WhatsApp Business app on your phone, you'll recieve a message from Facebook Business with a template message to Connect to Business Platform and click in Scan QR code Button.

  • Option 2 : Complete the verification by entering the access code which you can see on the screen and entering to your mobile.

Step 5: Sync Chat History (Optional but Recommended)

  • Meta will prompt you to sync messages.

  • Keep the WhatsApp Business app open during this process to import up to 6 months of chat history.

  • This preserves continuity of conversations across platforms.

Step 6: Confirm or edit your WhatsApp Business account

  • Verify or update your WhatsApp Business account details like WhatsApp Business account name and time zone and click next.

Step 7: Review required access and permission to EazyBe

  • Review and confirm the access request for the selected What's App Business account by clicking Confirm.

Step 8: Connecting your account

  • Once clicked confirm, your What's App business account will be connecting.

  • Click Finish your account is connected.

  • Once authorized, your number status shows as connected via coexistence.

  • Messages sent or received on either platform will appear on both.


Additional Notes

  • Keep your WhatsApp Business app open to maintain sync and minimize message loss during the coexistence setup.

  • You can continue using the mobile app for manual conversations while Eazybe handles automated replies, chatbots, and bulk broadcasts.

  • If you change numbers or unlink, a cooldown period of 1–2 months may be required before re-enabling coexistence on the same number.

  • This feature is ideal for businesses scaling automation without abandoning personal touch in direct chats.

Q1. Can I use coexistence with my existing WhatsApp Business number?

Yes. Provided you meet prerequisites and haven’t recently disconnected the number, you can enable coexistence to combine API and app usage.

Q2. Will I lose any chat history or contacts?

No. The setup syncs your chat history and contacts seamlessly between app and API.

Q3. What if I want to stop coexistence?

You can unlink your WhatsApp Business app from the API via Eazybe workspace.

Q4. Is coexistence free?

Yes, coexistence itself has no additional cost, but Meta message charges and your Eazybe subscription apply as usual.
