How to Create a Template with HubSpot variables

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for creating a new message template using HubSpot variables.

You will get to know how to configure basic template details, compose the message body using custom and HubSpot variables, add optional headers and footers, and include interactive quick reply buttons before submitting your template for approval.



Step-by-step guide:

Step 1 -> Go to the " Create Template Tab " and select the contact by clicking on the drop-down

Step 2 -> Click on the "Create Template"

Step 3 -> Fill in the "Template Name". ( Don't use special characters )

Step 4 -> Select the " Template Type ".

Step 5 -> Select the " Template Language "

Step 6 -> Fill in the Message under " Message Body "

Step 7 -> Click on the place where you want to add your HubSpot Property as variables.

Step 8 -> Select the "HubSpot Variable" from the drop-down.

Step 9 -> Click on "Add Variable" to choose from your HubSpot Properties as variables.

Step 10 -> Select one of your choice from the list. ( You can search it too using the " Search Input Box " ).

Step 11 -> Click on the preferred HubSpot property to use it as a variable under the Template.

Step 12 -> Follow the above steps to add your next variable.

Step 13 -> Input the Fallback values for each of the selected variables.


Q. What is the fallback value?

A. It is the default value, which gets overwritten at the place of the HubSpot property value if in case it's not available under the property. Used to make the personalisation and campaigns intact.

Step 14 -> Click on the button "Submit for Approval" to submit your Template for META review.

After the successful Approval, you can use the template for your HubSpot Workflows.


Constraints:

1. Don't use the variables at the beginning and end of the Message Body.

2. Keep the number of variables and content size in consideration. Don't use a lot of variables with small content size.
3. If there is no contact owner associated with the contact on HubSpot, or the integrated HubSpot doesn't have access to it, then the fallback value will get placed with the corresponding variable.
4. The Template name should be unique. ( In case, when you delete the last template with the same name )
